It’s always nice to have an idea of cost regarding a project so here we go!
Kitchen backsplash wall tile – project cost breakdown:
We went to two main places for our supplies for our kitchen backsplash. Floor & Decor is where we purchased all the main items for the project and we went to Home Depot for some of the less-job-specific secondary things.
Floor & Decor:
tile $25/box = $290
wet saw $60
thin set $8
grout $12
v-notch margin trowel $5
v-notch trowel $3 (did not use)
float $10 (did not really need)
tile snippers $11 (did not use at all)
grout haze remover $10
stone sealer $9

=$418 (with tile)
(=$128 for materials not including tile)
Home Depot:
tile spacers $3
frog tape $9
sponge $2
mixing blade $10
bucket $3
sanded ceramic tile caulk $8/each
plastic drop cloth $10/6pack
heavy-weight red rosin paper $13
dowel $1
laser level $64

=$123
drill, measuring tape, square, scissors (pre owend)
cardboard $0

= $0
Total:
$418 (Floor & Decor) +$123 (HD) = $541 for the entire backsplash project… that’s materials, tools, and consumables.
…and that’s pretty much it! I will say that the tile was for the entire wall – from countertop to ceiling rather than just the typical counter to under cabinets… so my tile cost may be higher purely due to amount of material.
