I’d just like to take a minute to compare where we were with the original kitchen and a little preview of where we are going with the finishings:
The old: ceiling – stippled texture.
The old: cabinets – chipboard & wood. Countertops & backsplash – formica. Sink – stainless steel double basin. Light switches/outlets – beige. The appliances – are perfect!
~ And now… for the new! ~
The new: ceiling – almost smooth… (not completely, but it’s better… I promise).
The new: floor – solid 3/4″ thick, 5″ width walnut.
The new: tile – marble “waterfall” pattern & countertops – concrete.
The new: cabinets: Ikea Abstrakt high gloss white (for the upper & tall cabinets) and Gnosjo black/brown (for the bottom cabinets). Ikea Metrik (9 3/16″ version) handles.
The new: light switches/outlets – white Legrand (with fancy functionality).
There are, of course, a few other things that I have not included in this list – like lighting, trim, et cetera – but this is a little sample of what will be going on before we get back to posts about more destruction.
