The Modern Atlanta Home Tour is a two day self-guided tour of homes in Atlanta. The architecture tour is mostly private residences, but occasionally a few commercial buildings are featured. It is usually held on a weekend in mid June – MA was founded in 2007. The tour is the finale of “Design is Human Week” – a week of speakers and events focusing on design, sustainability, and innovation.

The only condo on the home tour this year.
Looking back at the entry door:
Half bathroom off of the foyer:
From the foyer and turning left is the dining room, first living room, and back around the corner is the kitchen.
On the other side of the foyer is the second living room. It seems this home is all about texture.
Past this living room is the master bedroom:
Terrace off of the maser bedroom:
Terrace with a city view:
Looking back at the building. The little glass bump out is for the tub in the master bathroom. I like how the deck for the table creates a distinct “outdoor room”. Also, the combination of slate chips & slate-color stone walkway is nice.
Second bedroom on the other side of the first living space.
Wooden floor panel in the shower:
Overall, this was technically a modern space… but to me, it just felt like what I assume a condo should be like. I think of condos as being new, sleek, and modern – I suppose I was underwhelmed because it was expected. Mostly, this home was about decorating and furnishings – which, is in contrast to most of the other free-standing homes on the tour. Also in contrast to most of the homes on the tour, this home used dark tones and felt more like a nice bachelor pad.
